Car Care
You know there are things that all people have in common like food. Then there are things the only certain people have in common. For instance, the love of cars brings a number of people together. Rod runs at local burger stands or parks always draw a crowd. The folks that own these rare autos form clubs. Some rod runs that I have attended are just as much a social event as a car event. In fact the best events are the ones where people are engaged in connecting with each other. I attended the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, Ky in 2008. The most fun that I had was tailgating with the locals in the parking lot of the Executive Inn. The southern hospitality far exceeded the beauty of the 9000 cars on display.
I'm not a collector of cars, however I have an extream appreciation for the art form of street rods. I'm interested in what the collectors and builders of these cars do in the process of car care. I ask open ended questions like; how do you care for your wheels, how do you care for your paint, what polish/wax do you use. It all starts with a question and before you know it, you just made some new friends.
I hope to make it back to the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville next year. And when I do I expect I'll just pick up where I left off with the nice people I meet who love cars.
So if you are interested in what the car guys use, stay tuned to these pages as I document what I learn about cars, car care tools, car wash and wax, tire dressing and wheel care.
